what is distance education?

The NSW Department of Education and Training provides distance education programs for students who are resident in NSW who are isolated or whose special circumstances prevent them from attending school on a regular basis. It also provides eligible students with access to curriculum to meet Department of Education and Training mandatory requirements and Board of Studies minimum requirements for the award of a School Certificate or Higher School Certificate.

Provision

Although distance education was traditionally established for students from geographically isolated areas, it now caters for a much broader group of students. NSW Distance Education is provided from pre-school to Year 12 for students aged up to 18 years when enrolling.
